Newborn Photography: Meeting Luke for the First Time

I've met Luke's Mummy and Daddy a few times before, I photographed their wedding back in 2011 and met the a few weeks ago for their maternity shoot, so I guess you could say that I feel particularly humbled to be asked back to photograph their first child and to capture such an amazing  and memorable chapter of their life yet again.

I remind all my clients that those first few weeks are so fleeting and so precious and it's always such an important time to capture some pictures before your newborn baby has grown out of his or her newborn status, which actually happens quicker than you might think.  I love those moments where Mum or Dad are having a cuddle with their new little person.  You know that as a photographer I should be ashamed to admit that I fell into the category of person who has only a few images of herself with her own child when he was small.  I try to pass my 'hindsight' on to others so that they may not make the same mistake. 

I am not too sure if Luke was all that happy about being photographed, but what a cute little frown he has and impeccable taste on clothing, he was quite a stylish little dude.  Sharon and Eddie, I think you have created something so perfect, I am sure you will spend endless days just watching him change and grow, but I am glad you will have these to remember Luke when he was this brand new.  Thank you for asking me to photograph your family xx
